Philippine Culture

Last Sunday, my mom told me that Ate Aileen won't be coming with them on Sagada. So instead of her coming with them, I'll be replacing her. Our bus ride would be around 10 ish and we went home around 8. Since the bus terminal is in Espanya i needed to pack really fast. we'll be staying there for 3 days. So Ate Den(the fast driver) drove us to the terminal real fast. When we arrived, we sat in the waiting area. We bought Balot(yummy!). the bus ride was about 9 hrs. we thought it was 14 hrs. lol. So we arrived in Banaue around 7:30 am. So we checked in Banaue Hotel. their accomodations are really good. And it was really cold since it's in the mountain. lol. so we were all puyat from the trip. we rested for only an hour then we had to go to our first stop. so first we went to this place so we can see the viewpoint of the famous Banaue Rice Terraces(i'll be posting pics soon!)..to us it was perfect timing because the terraces' color was just perfect. so we took lots of pictures and i bought souvenir for my friends. after that, we went to the museum and saw interesting stuff and articles. we also had the chance to take pics with 3 ifugao ladies. they were very friendly and when they smile, they would say "yehey!". good thing we only went to 2 places. so we went back to the hotel and ate lunch. i ordered sinigang(yummy!). i rested the whole day.

Day 2

We had to wake up around 6:30 am. We ate a hearty breakfast. we left around 7:30 using a jeepney. but it was only the 4 of us in it. first destination. Bontoc Museum. It was really cold in the morning. the road was really small and to think that the road is actually in the mountain. i took a couple of pics during the roadtrip. it took 2 hrs. for us to arrive in Bontoc. So we went inside the museum and again we saw intersting artifacts and articles. i saw this article about the head hunting days. yes. head hunting. it said that the tribes used to head hunt for a sport. scary. good thing it's over. i also read that they would just do it because of boredom. like "i'm bored! wanna go head hunting?" me oh my... lol

After the museum we had a 2 hr. drive again to Sagada. We're going caving baby! We passed by this road full of pine trees. i love the scent of pine! so we arrived in the cave. we had a guide. The cave i would say is the best thing that happened in our trip. it was really dark so we needed a lamp. flashlight there is useless. then there's this part where you need to take your shoes off because the next parts would be really slippery. especially the white rocks. there are a lot of awesome rock formations there. again, pics will be posted soon ;) there's this elephant rock, rice terraces, chocolate cake, king's curtain(my fave!), hiding turtle rock formations. so awesome! there's also this water part. cool icy water! loves it! there's this part where we need to rapell. it was my fave in the cave(oh it rhyms!) lol. there's this funny part that happened. it took place in this pool like thingy insde the cave.

Uncle Robert: how deep is the water?
Cassie: it's very shallow. we can walk at it!
Uncle:oh..i see...so we can jump!
Cassie: yeah we can!
Mom: Errol(the guide), what's the ft. of the water?
Cassie: Can we jump?
Errol: It's 15 ft. there's a hole there..so it can be dangerous...
Cassie: oh...

LMAO

after that, we had a 4 hr. trip. i didnt rest inside. we ate dinner and we took a nap. we watched the cultural show. i really appreciated every inch of it. ahh....the Philippine culture :)
Day3
Last day. We went to Tam An Village. We went inside a typical ifugao house. i think it's awesome! i wanna stay there for a week. We had our picture taken wearing ifugao attire. and i saw a skeleton of a native's grandfather. i even have a picture holding the skull! we rested the whole day...

we left around 6 ish and arrived in manila around 3 ish. so yeah.,..that's my trip! i'm glad i went there!
